About

Embergear Studios

Built by experience. Powered by curiosity. Sharpened by AI.

Embergear Studios is a two-person studio founded by a lifelong animal professional and a battle-hardened network security specialist who decided to stop waiting for the "right" tools to exist—and build them instead.

One of us spent decades training, breeding, competing with, and documenting animals across multiple species. The other spent a career securing networks, breaking systems (professionally), and making sure the things people trust don't fall apart under pressure. Somewhere in the middle of all that experience, we realized something important:

Most software is built by people who don't actually live in the world they're designing for.

So we decided to fix that.

What We Do

We build software and games that solve real problems, feel human to use, and respect the intelligence of the people who rely on them.

Our projects are shaped by:

  • Deep, firsthand domain knowledge
  • A security-first mindset (because trust matters)
  • A love of good design and clear systems
  • And a healthy dose of curiosity, humor, and stubbornness

We don't chase trends. We chase solutions.

AI Is a Tool — Not a Crutch

We fully embrace AI as part of our creative and technical workflow.

AI helps us:

  • Prototype faster
  • Explore more ideas
  • Translate messy real-world inputs into structured systems
  • And spend less time on drudgery and more time on thinking

But make no mistake: experience drives the decisions.

AI accelerates the work — it doesn't replace judgment, taste, or accountability.

(Also: yes, we argue with it. Frequently.)

Why "Embergear"?

Because good systems don't explode — they burn steadily.

Embers last.

Gears turn.

Things should work even when conditions aren't perfect.

That philosophy runs through everything we build.

Who We're Building For

We build for people who:

  • Care deeply about their work
  • Are tired of paper, spreadsheets, and duct-taped software
  • Want tools that respect their time and intelligence
  • And appreciate solutions made by people who actually understand the problem

Sometimes that's breeders and competitors.

Sometimes it's gamers.

Sometimes it's people who didn't even realize software could work this way.

The Short Version

We're a small studio with big experience, a sharp sense of humor, and a refusal to accept "that's just how it's always been done."

We build things because they should exist.

And because it's more fun to build them together.
